I came to Shirley’s pilates classes about 18 months ago having previously done a lot of Stott pilates, which I had had to stop due to a bout of back spasms. Somatic pilates is completely different to the Stott pilates I was used to and I love it. It brings an awareness to every movement, not just directly, but indirectly and encourages me to be a lot more conscious of my movements. The pace is slow and I find it very relaxing.
Shirley has a wonderful manner and is very passionate about her classes. She is very patient and has a good rapport with all us students, and we make time for a quick chat before and after our classes.
Covid has prevented us from meeting at our usual venue, but I am enjoying our Zoom classes just as much and still feel I am getting the benefit from them.
